FUN-damental is run by an experienced staff who will teach the basic skills and techniques of the game. We will concentrate on providing the necessary time to practice learned skills, so that games will reinforce learned basketball habits.

Meet the Director | Frank Ferreer

 

 

Frank Ferreer is the Director of Central Mass Fundamentals and possesses over 35 years of basketball experience. Coach Ferreer has served as Director of Hoop Mountain Girls Camp, staff member of Gold Star and other five star camps throughout New England.

 

As a high school varsity coach, Frank has amassed 375 career wins including league titles in the Eastern Independence League (EIL) and 5 league titles and 12 consecutive district playoff appearances.  Overall, Frank's varsity teams qualified for district playoffs over 70% of the time.

 

Coach Ferreer has received conference and school ‘Coach of the Year’ awards in 2002 and 2003. Coach Ferreer, since taking the reins of the Assabet Valley Girls program, 10+ seasons ago, has amassed a 70% win record.

 

On May 28, 2015, Coach Ferreer was named Girls Basketball Coach of the Year in Massachusetts by the Massachusetts Interscholastic Athletic Association (MIAA).

 

Coach Ferreer has 2 State Vocational Championships and has appeared in the State Vocational finals 4 times

Coach Muralinath grew up in a family of exceptional basketball players in Chennai, India. Appoorva, who is 5'11" tall, played professionally in India for 10 years, captaining her state team to several National Championships and winning many MVP Awards. She played for the Indian Women's National Team in 2012 and 2015. Appoorva also enjoys helping young athletes understand the importance of strength, conditioning, and nutrition.  While her technical basketball knowledge and ability to help young players develop strong fundamentals are outstanding, she always looks for opportunities in her basketball programs to add focus on strength, conditioning, and nutrition!

Coach | Dave McCarthy

 

 

 

Dave McCarthy is an MIAA Certified High School Coach, whose love for basketball began as a high school player, progressed as a college player, and continued through nearly a decade of coaching.  He has coached AAU teams since 2012 and has been a lead counselor for several area basketball camps.  He has directed youth basketball programs and coached at both the junior varsity and varsity high school basketball levels.

  • Varsity Girls' Basketball Coach at Tahanto High School

  • Camp Instructor at several area basketball camps

Ralph has been a fixture as a long-time coach throughout Massachusetts. He possesses over 35 years of coaching experience including 20 years with the Melrose middle school, junior varsity, and varsity girls.

Most recently, Ralph has been coaching in the CMF AAU program. He is a former host of a local sports television show and is an avid follower of the UConn Huskies Women's Basketball program. 

His longevity, experience, and knowledge set him apart from other coaches in the area. His attention to detail and enthusiasm for hard, trapping defense, and fast-paced, opportunistic offense have been a great addition to the CMF program.

O'Day is the head coach of the Grafton High School Varsity Girls' Basketball program.

 

Her career began at Tahanto Regional High School (2012-2018).  She then managed the Worcester State Women's Basketball Team from 2018-2020.  O'Day has coached each summer at the CMF Basketball Camp since 2018.  She has also led a series of clinics through CMF Basketball since her participation with the program began in 2018.

 

O'Day is a coach and instructor in the CMF AAU program.
